Calm, patient and gradual is one of the most powerful phrases I have ever come across. Isn’t it interesting that the phrase does not arrest you? It might not seem special. Just three boring words. But I think living by it can bring a great deal of positive change in one’s life. I think the words come from Immanuel Kant. I tried searching over the internet for confirmation but I found no leads.
I am not going to tell you how you can be calm, patient or gradual. I will only emphasize the importance of being consistent. Think of your end goal, and divide it into parts. In this way, the goal does not overwhelm you. Do the little things in order to accomplish something grand. Following this dictum will help you when you get bored. This is a promise, if you want to accomplish anything worthwhile you will get really bored along the way. Try training for a marathon. I tried that, I got so bored I didn’t show up for the final run.
It is said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. It is equally important that you take that step everyday. It is said that Rome was not built in a day. Yes, but it was built everyday.
